A good coach breaks it down into smaller steps - Leah Bird

Leah was a member of the Hunter swim club where she became a member of the Australian national team and finaled at the 2012 Olympic trials as well as the 2011/2013 World Champ Trials. She decided to pursue her swimming career in the US to swim for the University of Alabama where her main events were 100 and 200 fly. Afterwards, she moved to Panama City Beach, Florida and coached kids from ages 5-15 with the Panama City Tsunamis. Now, she is back in her Australian hometown of Newcastle coaching both on deck and on land. Her love for swimming translates into her coaching. She believes in the everyday life skills that swimming gives us and is working to pass them onto the next generation of swimmers.
